Don Solaris — A Shame Behaviour

We are really sad to report that our colleague fellow sound designer Don Solaris post a thread on his website with accusation and insult against our team.

Professional and adequate people in musical industry always following 2 rules:

  1. Never mix audio work with politics and political views.
  2. Always figure out private face to face conversation first regarding any disturbing situation and then
    go to public.

Unfortunately, Don as talented sound designer show him self as non-adequate and toxic person. Our team send official excuse to him regarding technical mistake which Nick Klimenko had made a few years ago.

Thread is here, read it carefully: https://www.donsolaris.com/?p=3248

Now, please read our private message to Don we sent few days ago:
– Dear Don, greetings! It’s Nick Klimenko. Our client just show us post on your website.
And I’m reacting and answering:
– For 15 past years I made over 300 soundsets — singles and with other sound designers. As well as 50 albums around the globe as Chronos Music. Stealing other’s hard work is not my goal and not my way. But I’m checking now the files and see I made a terrible mess with CZ series of presets.

Period in which CZ soundsets were made was stressed, and I see now that I mixed up some of my presets with your factory ones. And some of mine presets still in the unfinished folder. It’s my mistake, I apologize and will fix the situation.

We respect your work, our sound design business and I can apologize in public, if needed.

We’ve got no answer on this mail and comment finally:
– Dear Don Solaris, do you really think we are that stupid to take factory presets (you’re setting) from one synthesizer, rename it and put in other one with our names? You made a less than 50 soundsets in your work, we made 700 hundred (!) presets, patches, booklets, sample packs, over 1000 video for community. We respect the community, we put all the forces into sound design development. But what we are not doing — spreading angriness, politics against races and countries.

We are very sad that in such a small creative community we can see such reactions, behavior and
toxicity.

We strongly recommend think about what’s real important in musical life — the development,
understanding each other and dialogue.

Yours, Lfo Team
